Gas Attendant

Reporting to the Gas Station Manager, the Gas Attendant plays an important role in creating a welcoming, safe, and respectful space for community members and visitors. This role supports the day‐to‐day operation of the gas station by providing friendly customer service, maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and following safety and operational procedures.

We are seeking someone who takes pride in their work, enjoys helping others, and understands the importance of working respectfully within a community‐based, Indigenous organization.

Duties and Responsibilities:
As the Gas Attendant for Pacheedaht First Nation, you will carry out the following tasks.

Customer Service & Sales

• Greet customers warmly and provide friendly, helpful service.
• Process cash, debit, and credit transactions accurately.
• Serve customers in a timely and respectful manner, represent Pacheedaht First Nation in a positive and professional way
• Check valid government‐issued ID when selling age‐restricted products, in accordance with law.

Store Operations & Safety

• Stocking, facing, and organizing merchandise, fridges, and shelves.
• Keeping the store, fridges, and work areas clean and tidy (sweeping, dusting, cleaning).
• Following all health, safety, and WHMIS requirements.
• Wearing appropriate attire and maintaining an acceptable dress code.
• Completing required training, including propane certification.
• Follow direction from the Gas Station Manager and other leadership.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with coworkers and supervisors.
• Follow all internal policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
• Support the team by completing assigned tasks and helping where needed.

• Indigenous experience: Indigenous lived experience and/or significant experience working with Indigenous communities is strongly valued.

• Certifications & Checks:
• Valid BC driver’s licence (Class 5; Class 4 preferred) with a clear driver’s abstract.
• Clear Criminal Record Check, including the vulnerable sector, as required.
• Willingness to obtain WHMIS and propane certification
